Day 2: Headed to Paradise-Dec 29, 2009

Stephanie:
Morning Team, i bet your wondering why we haven't posted any pics; well cuz I left my USB cord to my camera at home. However, we are on a tireless quest to find a cord to post pics; so stay tuned....
It's 9am here in Bangkok and I can't sleep. Kema and Ashlee are knocked out (so jealous) and I've been up since 7:30am. We did not burned the midnight oil away in the humid streets of Bangkok last night. By the time we took showers and even thought about heading out the rest of the group was coming in...however Ashlee reports that the streets of Bangkok are beyond grimy, stray dogs and prostitutes were everywhere. Btw, if your ever in Bangkok we are staying at the Grand Millennium Hotel; which is very nice.
Funny Story: so, you now when you are traveling aboard you have to buy adapters/converters for things like computers, cell phone chargers, curling irons, cuz the outlets are different depending on where you going. So, I decided I was going to straighten my hair out before we hit the town. The hotel is a pretty nice hotel; so I figured my curlers would fit into the outlets and I wouldn't need my adapter/converter; and they did. So after, about 3-4 mins i asked Kema "did you turn the heat on; something smells like it's burning?" she said "no, it's probably your curler". I thought briefly to myself "could be, but they've never smelled like that before". Thinking nothing of it, I go into the bathroom, touch the curler; which are hot and I proceed to straighten my hair and the iron burns a little bit of the hair around my edges. I almost DIED!! LITERALLY!!! I heard my hair sizzle followed by the stench of burned hair. My eyes got so big and my heart almost stopped; honestly I could have passed out easily. Moral of the story: if u buy, purchased, paid in full for a freakin converter/adaptor USE IT! laughing on the inside, but crying on the outside...

We'll be headed to Paradise around 2:30 this afternoon...

To be continued.....

  1. Hey sis, sounds like you two have things handled. If you can't find a USB cord, try looking for a memory card reader, that'll work just as well. See you soon, love you!!
